The Sixth EU-founded Project that Goldman is Participating as a partner in is the «CY-EBSI – Establish of EBSI node(s) in Cyprus». The consortium consists beyond our company from the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy (DMRID), Rtd Talos limited (Talos), and EDEX – Educational Excellence Corporation ltd (UNIC).
The Project started on the 1st of May 2021 and will end on the 30th of April 2023. The total budget for the Project is €200,000.
The scope will aim to establish a solid pillar for the development and spreading of the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) initiative in Cyprus and support the participation and contribution of Cypriot stakeholders to the European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI), in particular as regards the Diplomas use case.
Specifically, the Action will cover:
1) EBSI infrastructure development and operations by supporting the setup and operation of a Cypriot EBSI node version 1, functional and integrated with the EBSI network and operations.
2) EBSI cross-border use cases through the deployment of the Diploma use case, by developing a solution based on verifiable credentials. Specifically, the solutions will allow EU citizens to request and acquire a VC for his/her professional qualification, which will be stored in his/her EBSI wallet. The EU citizen will then be able to make a presentation of his VC to a potential employer within the EU as proof of being eligible to exercise his/her profession in the home state or the other EU Member States.
3) EBSI capacity building and training activities for a wide range of stakeholders, targeting both technical and non-technical audiences. These will focus on Blockchain and EBSI context, as well as in the use case implemented, aiming to a border uptake of the EBSI by public and private services.
